The Nicola Quintin Scholarship
This Scholarship is given to students who have a strong artistic mind and previous background in parts of the industry whether it is a job, social media, and/or personal experience or training. The recipient is passionate, driven and wants a successful future in the industry. The applicant must possess a creative passion for the field and a solid career plan. The applicant must possess a GPA of 75 or higher, with an attendance rate of 85% or higher.
Scholarship is awarded at the three quarter point of the required hours for the program.
Award: Up to $1,000
To apply: Complete an O’Briens Aveda Institute Scholarship Application, leave a memorable and outstanding admissions interview impression ensuring to outline your dream and goals in the field as well as your motivation. Write a 500-word essay on why you want to be a Cosmetologist, Barber or Esthetician, your history with the field(if any). What has been your most significant experience, either as a client or service provider, how did that shape your perception of the industry? Also, you must submit one(1) letter of recommendation from a non-relative outlining your passion for cosmetology, barbering and/or esthetics.
The William Hayes O’Brien Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who is passionate, driven and wants a successful future in the industry.
Scholarship is awarded at the three quarter point of the required hours for the program. The applicant must possess a GPA of 75 or higher, with an attendance rate of 85% or higher.
Award: Up to $1,000
To apply: Complete an O’Briens Aveda Institute Scholarships Application and write a 500-word essay on why you want to be a Cosmetologist, Barber, Esthetician and your history with the field(if any). What has been your most significant experience, either as a client or service provider, and how did that shape your perception of the industry?
The O’Briens Aveda Institute Outstanding Student Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student that has continuously demonstrated leadership, professionalism, a passion through their work and education every day. Applicants must possess a GPA and attendance rating of 90% or higher.
Award: Up to $1,000
To apply: Complete an O’Briens Aveda Institute Scholarship Application, have an established social media site promoting your work, submit a 500-word essay outlining why you believe you are “outstanding” and should be awarded the scholarship.
Scholarship is awarded at the three quarter point of the required hours for the program.
The Bring a Buddy Tuition Scholarship
O’Briens Aveda Institute recognizes the academic and financial benefits when friends, colleagues, or acquaintances attend our institute of higher learning together. The Bring a Buddy Scholarship was initiated to help offset some of the financial burden while also allowing students the benefit of working on their education with a buddy nearby. The applicant must possess a GPA of 75 or higher, with an attendance rate of 85% or higher. The Scholarship is $500 off of the tuition for the student who brings a buddy in and $500 for the buddy who is referred.
The following eligibility criteria must be met:
-To apply, both students must complete the Bring a Buddy application
-Scholarship is applied for NEW O’Briens Aveda Institute students only
-Scholarship is $500 for the referring student and $500 for referred student
-Both students must hit the three quarter point of their program
-Referring and Referred student must be active student(not graduated)
-Referring and Referred student must be in good academic standing to receive Scholarship
-Scholarship is applied to course tuition only and will not result in a cash payment to student
-If referring or referred student drop or withdraw prior to 500 hours, scholarship will not be applied
