At O'Brien's Aveda Institute, we provide scholarship opportunities for those who exemplify leadership, artistic ability, professionalism, and those with financial need that are driven for a future in Cosmetology, Barbering, and/or Esthetics.
The Nicola Quintin Scholarship
Award: Up to $1,000
This Scholarship is given to students who have a strong artistic mind and previous background in parts of the industry whether it is a job, social media, and/or personal experience or training. The recipient is passionate, driven and wants a successful future in the industry. The applicant must possess a creative passion for the field and a solid career plan.
The applicant must possess a GPA of 75 or higher, with an attendance rate of 85% or higher. Scholarship is awarded when the student reaches 30 hours remaining in the program.
To Apply:
Complete an O’Briens Aveda Institute Scholarship Application, leave a memorable and outstanding admissions interview impression ensuring to outline your dream and goals in the field as well as your motivation. Write a 500-word essay on why you want to be a Cosmetologist, Barber or Esthetician, your history with the field(if any). What has been your most significant experience, either as a client or service provider, how did that shape your perception of the industry? Also, you must submit one(1) letter of recommendation from a non-relative outlining your passion for cosmetology, barbering and/or esthetics. All scholarship application documents must be received no later than 1/2 way into your program of study.
The William Hayes O’Brien Scholarship
Award: Up to $1,000
This scholarship is awarded to a student who is passionate, driven and wants a successful future in the industry.
Scholarship is awarded when the student reaches 30 hours remaining in the program. The applicant must possess a GPA of 75 or higher, with an attendance rate of 85% or higher.
To Apply:
Complete an O’Brien's Aveda Institute Scholarships Application and write a 500-word essay on why you want to be a Cosmetologist, Barber, Esthetician and your history with the field(if any). What has been your most significant experience, either as a client or service provider, and how did that shape your perception of the industry?
All scholarship application documents must be received no later than 1/2 way into your program of study.
The O’Briens Aveda Institute Outstanding Student Scholarship
Award: Up to $1,000
This scholarship is awarded to a student that has continuously demonstrated leadership, professionalism, a passion through their work and education every day.
Applicants must possess a GPA and attendance rating of 90% or higher.
To Apply:
Complete an O’Briens Aveda Institute Scholarship Application, have an established social media site promoting your work, submit a 500-word essay outlining why you believe you are “outstanding” and should be awarded the scholarship. All scholarship application documents must be received no later than 1/2 way into your program of study.
Scholarship is awarded when the student reaches 30 hours remaining in the program.
The Bring a Buddy Tuition Scholarship
Award: The Scholarship for Cosmetology, Barbering and Esthetics students is $500 off the tuition for both students once they have graduated the Cosmetology, Barbering or Esthetics program. The scholarship for Nail Tech Students is $250 off the tuition for both students once they have graduated from the Nail Tech program.
O’Brien's Aveda Institute recognizes the academic and financial benefits when friends, colleagues, or acquaintances attend our institute of higher learning together. The Bring a Buddy Scholarship was initiated to help offset some of the financial burden while also allowing students the benefit of working on their education with a buddy nearby.
The following eligibility criteria must be met:
-Scholarship is applied to first time O’Briens Aveda Institute students only
-Scholarship is awarded only if you are both enrolling in the same course of study
-Both students must graduate from the program
-Must possess a GPA of 75 or higher, with an attendance rate of 85% or higher
To Apply:
To apply, both students must complete the Bring a Buddy application. The scholarship application must be completed and returned to the Financial Aid Office prior to or on the first day of classes prior to going into the classroom.
The Hailey Westcot Scholarship
Award: Up to $1,000 for Cosmetology, Barbering, and Esthetics students. Up to $250 for Nail Technology students.
The Hailey Westcot Scholarship is awarded in memory of our student, Hailey Westcot, who was a kind, sweet, caring young lady with passion and drive. Hailey was always willing to help her fellow students. Applicants must possess these same characteristics—specifically, being kind to others and willing to help.
- Academic Performance: Candidates must have a GPA of 85% or higher and an attendance rate of 85% or higher.
- Award Timing: The scholarship is awarded when a student has 30 hours remaining until the end of their program.
To Apply:
To apply, please complete an O’Briens Aveda Institute Scholarships Application and submit a 500-word essay addressing the following:
1. Why you want to pursue a career as a Cosmetologist, Barber, Esthetician or Nail Tech
2. Your history with the field (if any).
3. Your most significant experience (as a client or service provider) and how it shaped your perception of the industry.
Selection Process:
While GPA and attendance are required, the award determination will be primarily based on the applicant's demonstrated characteristics of being caring, kind, and helpful to others. The final decision will be made by the Educators and fellow students.
Disclaimer: The scholarships awarded are only if the student completes the program. If they withdraw, the scholarship does not get applied to their account.
